g) Connecting the Drive battery to the Speed Controller
First switch off the speed controller. Put the On/Off switch
(see circle in the figure to the right) into the "OFF" position
for this. Observe the labels next to the slider.
Check the setting of the battery type (see chapter 9. c).
Then switch on the transmitter (see chapter 9. d) and 9 e).
Remember to put the trimming for driving into the centre
position.
To prevent sudden start-up of the wheels and therefore uncontrolled starting of the model (e.g. if the trim-
ming for the drive is maladjusted), place the model vehicle on a suitable support (or starting box), so that the
wheels can turn freely in case of an error.
Do not reach into the drive. Do not hold the wheels.
Now connect the drive battery to the speed controller. Ensure correct polarity (red cable = plus/+, black cable =
minus/-). Do not apply any force when connecting the battery plug to the connection of the speed controller.
Make sure that the cables do not get into the drive of the vehicle or the steering mechanics. Use cable binders for
fastening if required.
h) Switching on the Speed Controller
Switch on the speed controller by moving the slider (see figure in chapter 9. g) into the "ON" position. Then wait for
a few seconds (leave the throttle/brake lever on the transmitter in the neutral position; do not move it) until the speed
controller has completed its self-test.
When switching on, a red LED on the speed controller will light up briefly. Then the motor will emit a beep
(the beep is caused by a brief activation of the motor by the speed controller).
If the transmitter signal is recognised and the throttle/brake lever at the transmitter is in the neutral position
the red LED will light up again briefly after one second and a second beep will sound.
The speed controller is then ready for operation.
In case of fault (when the speed controller has not recognised any transmitter signal or correct neutral posi-
tion), the red LED will continue to flash. The speed controller cannot be taken into operation.
Now check the drive and steering functions of the vehicle.
The LED at the speed controller goes out in the neutral position or flashes red when driving forward and backwards.
The LED remains lit red when driving forwards and at full throttle.
i) Attaching and Fastening the Car Body
Push the aerial tube from the bottom of the body through the respective opening. Put the car body onto the supports
and secure them each with safety clips.
