d) Taking the Transmitter and Receiver System into Operation
For commissioning of the transmitter, observe its operating instructions.
Open the transmitter's battery compartment and insert batteries or fully charged rechargeable batteries. Observe the
polarity (plus/+ and minus/-). Close the battery compartment again.
Switch on the transmitter. Check the function of the transmitter.
Switch on the receiver system in the vehicle via the on/off switch
(1) (switch position „ON").
e) Programme Fail-Safe
The enclosed remote control system has an integrated fail safe function.
For programming of the fail-safe, observe the description in the enclosed operating instructions of the remo-
te control system.
If you want to use any other remote control system, a separate fail-safe may be required. This must control
the throttle/brake servo.
For reasons of safety, the motor must not run while programming the fail-safe function!
Switch on the transmitter and the receiver power supply and check the function of the two servos (steering servo and
throttle/brake servo). Then switch off the transmitter.
Due to the missing control impulses, the steering servo starts to vibrate; this is normal however. (If desired, a second
failsafe (optionally available) can also move the steering servo to a defined position, e.g. for straight forward run).
Set the fail-safe function so that the throttle/brake servo is in the position in which the brake is activated (max. brake
output). When the transmitter signal fails, the fail-safe now automatically sets throttle to idle and activates the brake
so that the vehicle stops.
