Long periods of inactivity
If the motorcycle is inactive longer than
fifteen days, it is necessary to recharge
the battery to avoid sulphation.
•
Remove the battery and store it
in a cool and dry place.
In winter or when the vehicle remains
stopped, check the charge frequently
(about once a month) to avoid deteriora-
tion.
•
Fully recharge with an ordinary
charge.
If the battery is still on the vehicle, dis-
connect the cables of the terminals.
CHECKING AND CLEANING LEADS
AND TERMINALS
•
Partially remove the battery
from its housing.
•
Make sure that the leads of the
cables and the battery terminals
are:
- in good condition (not corroded or cov-
ered by deposits);
- covered with neutral grease or petrole-
um jelly.

Au cas où le véhicule resterait inactif plus
de quinze jours, il est nécessaire de re-
charger la batterie pour en éviter la sul-
fatation.
•
Retirer la batterie et la ranger
dans un endroit frais et sec.
Durant la période hivernale ou lorsque le
véhicule reste arrêté, pour éviter qu'elle
ne se détériore, contrôler périodiquement
la charge (environ une fois par mois).
•
La recharger complètement en
utilisant une recharge normale.
Si la batterie reste sur le véhicule, dé-
brancher les câbles des bornes.
CONTRÔLE ET NETTOYAGE DES
COSSES ET DES BORNES
•
Extraire partiellement la batterie
de son logement.
•
Contrôler que les cosses des
câbles et les bornes de la batte-
rie sont :
- en bon état (non rouillés ni couverts de
dépôts) ;
- couverts de graisse neutre ou vaseline.
