Check that the electrodes and
spark plug insulator do not show
traces of carbon deposits and or
corrosion. If necessary, clean

them using a jet of compressed
air.
If the spark plug shows cracks on the in-
sulator, corroded electrodes, excessive
deposits, or if the top (6) of the central
electrode (3) has become rounded, the
spark plug must be replaced.
WHEN
REPLACING
PLUG, CHECK THE PITCH AND
LENGTH OF THE THREAD. IF THE
THREADED PART IS TOO SHORT,
CARBON DEPOSITS WILL BUILD UP
ON THE THREAD SEATING AND MAY
CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE
WHEN THE CORRECT THREADED
PART IS INSTALLED.USE RECOM-
MENDED SPARK PLUGS ONLY. US-
ING A SPARK PLUG OTHER THAN
THAT SPECIFIED MIGHT COMPRO-
MISE ENGINE PERFORMANCE AND
LIFE.TO CHECK THE GAP BETWEEN
THE ELECTRODES USE A FEELER

Contrôler que les électrodes et
l'isolant de la bougie sont
exempts de calamine ou de si-
gnes de corrosion, éventuelle-
ment nettoyer avec un jet d'air
comprimé.
Si la bougie présente des fissures sur
l'isolant, des électrodes corrodées, un
excès de calamine ou si l'électrode cen-
trale (3) présente un sommet arrondi (6),
elle doit être remplacée.
