2.10 Potential Sources of Risk with the Centrifugal Pump
• Centrifugal pumps have been built using state-of-the-art technology and in compliance
with recognised safety regulations. Despite that there could be danger to life and limb
of the user or to third parties or damage to property in the way that you employ the blo-
wer.
• Persons who are likely to be endangered by radio waves (e.g.
pacemakers) should not linger near pump type WKN with radio control. In this case it
is recommended to choose a different type of control, such as external or pneumatic.
It is impossible to eliminate all potential risks!
Potential danger areas on the centrifugal pump are:
• the suction inlet
• the blow-out nozzle
• the pump housing.
Danger of getting drawn in!
There is strong suction at the suction inlet.
Attention! Danger of injury!
Watch your loose clothing and hair. Remove jewellery before operating the
blower.
Never put your hands into the suction inlet.
Danger of impact!
At the blow-out nozzle objects that were sucked in may be expelled at high speed.
Attention! Danger of injury!
Place a filter in front of the centrifugal pump that removes objects and
impurities before they can be drawn in.
Danger of burns!
The centrifugal pump housing gets hot during operation and must be protected from direct
contact..
Attention! Danger of injury!
Ensure that the operator does not touch the centrifugal pump!
Fix a protective cover to the unit.
Allow the centrifugal pump to cool down before you carry out maintenance or
repair work.
