d) Servo Exponential Function (EXP)
With the help of the exponential function, you can change the linear coupling between the controller and the servo
path (dashed line in figure 24) in the central position for the steering and driving function control channels.
The value can be set from -100% to 100%, with 0% corresponding to linear control. Changing the set value always
affects both sides of the servo deflection.
The maximum possible servo deflection (EPA value) is not
limited by the activation of the exponential function.
If the exponential share is increased, the servo motion is
stronger in the range of the central position (sketch A). This
function is suitable, e.g. for faster reaction of throttle and
brake.
If the exponential share is decreased, the servo motion is
weaker in the range of the central position (sketch B). This
function is suitable, e.g., for finer steering during straight
driving.
Setting the exponential values
Switch on the transmitter. On the transmitter's LC display the operating dis-
play will appear.
Press the Enter button to enter the programming menu. The menu item for
model memory selection (MDL) is displayed.
Use the cursor button (up/down) to call the menu item for the servo exponen-
tial function (EPA).
Now use the Enter button to activate the menu item. The display shows chan-
nel 1 (CH1) for steering and the factory pre-set or last programmed EXP value.
Now use the cursor button (up/down) to set the desired EXP value for the
steering function.
Then switch to channel 2 (CH2) for the driving function with the cursor button.
Set the EXP value for driving according to the same procedure as for the
steering function.
Press the Enter button to store the set value.
Use ESC to leave the programming menu again or to return to the operating
display.
