Dipole Vector Interferential Current
Interferential Current is a medium frequency
waveform. Current is distributed through two
channels (four electrodes). The currents cross each
other in the body at the area requiring treatment.
The two currents interfere with each other at
this crossing point, resulting in a modulation of
the intensity (the current intensity increases
and decreases at a regular frequency). With the
dipole vector technique the currents from the two
electrode pairs are vectorially summed in the tissue.
The effect is that stimulation only occurs into the
direction of the resulting vector, which can be
adjusted over a range of 360º.
The angle is either manually adjusted and constant,
or
automatically generated so that the full revolution
(360°) is automatically generated in an adjustable
timing (rotation time).
