To set user bit data
The display contains eight digits for user bit data in hexadecimal notation.
Use these bit data for recording memos, IDs for cassettes or the date.
The bits can be set between 00000000 and FFFFFFFF.

Referring to "To enter the dial menu operation mode" on page 61, display the
setup item "102 U-BIT PRESET'.

2 The blinking digits can be set. Turn the search dial to select the digits to be set.
3 Turn the search dial while pressing the RECORDER/DATA
button to change the
displayed figures. Set them as desired.
4 When completed, press the SET button.
The desired user bit data have been set.
To superimpose title characters
The title characters set with this operation will be superimposed
on the picture which
is displayed
before entering the dial menu
operation
mode.
The operations for the setup item "103 TITLE (SMALL)"' (title characters recorded in
small letters) and for the setup item "104 TITLE (LARGE)" (title characters recorded in
large letters) are the same, only the the size and number of characters displayed are
different.
The maximum display for each menu is as follows:
Small size: 20 characters by 3 lines
Large size: 20 characters by 1 line
