VIDEO (video/tracking) meter
Indicates the incoming video signal level in the record or E-E (electric to electric)
mode. In the playback mode, this indicates the FM signal level for videohead-to-tape
tracking.
AUDIO (audio level) meters
Indicate the incoming audio signal level in the record or E-E mode. During playback,
these indicate outgoing audio signal level.
&} VIDEO LEVEL selector
AUTO:
Set to this position, and the keyed AGC (automatic gain control) circuit
automatically adjusts the gain for an optimum recording level.
MANUAL:
Set to this position to manually control the recording level.

AUDIO LIMITER selector
ON:
Set to this position to record high level signals with low distortion.
Adjust recording level with the AUDIO LEVEL (REC) controls @ prior to setting this
switch to ON, and incoming audio signals will be level-limited properly.
OFF:
Set this switch to OFF so that the level limiters will not work. Adjust incoming
audio level with the AUDIO LEVEL (REC) controls @ so that the readings of the
AUDIO
METER
@ are nearly zero at the highest possible
level.
AUDIO MONITOR selector
Selects the audio output to the HEADPHONES jack @®, MONITOR connectors, and
AUDIO OUT MONITOR connectors.
CH-1: The audio signal on channel 1 is selected.
MIX: The audio signals on channels 1 and 2 are mixed and output to the MONITOR
and AUDIO OUT MONITOR connectors. At the same time, they are separately
output to the HEADPHONES jack.
CH-2: The audio signal on channel 2 is selected.
INPUT SELECT selector
Selects video input to record or to edit as follows:
LINE: The video signal input to the VIDEO IN connector on the connector panel is
selected.
DUB:
The video signal input to the DUB IN connector on the connector panel is
selected.
When a
signal is input to the DUB IN connector, the chrominance signal will not be
applied to the APC (automatic phase control) and AFC (automatic frequency control)
circuits. To record or to edit on the BVU-950, if possible, use the video signal input
to this connector for better picture quality.
