Latching Mode
Latching mode - disables the output when the inhibit signal is true. This is treated as a protection
event, and output remains disabled regardless of subsequent inhibit signal changes. To return the
output to normal operation, the Inhibit input must remain false and the latched inhibit signal must be
cleared (see "Clearing a latched Inhibit Signal" at the end of this section). The output remains off after
the protection is cleared and must be re-enabled to turn it on again.
Step 1. Turn the AC source off
Step 2. Connect an external switch or circuit to the Inhibit terminals.
Step 3. Turn the AC source on.
Step 4. Select Latching as the inhibit mode.
SCPI:
OUTPut:INHibit:MODE
Step 5. Select a polarity for the Latching Inhibit mode.
SCPI:
DIGital:PIN:POLarity
Step 6. Turn the output on. When the inhibit signal disables the output, the status indicator displays
"INH". The voltage and current meters will display zero.
Inhibit Example
As shown in the following figure, you can connect the Inhibit input to a manual switch or external
control signal that will short the inhibit pin to ground whenever it is necessary to disable the output.
Negative polarity must be programmed for the inhibit pin in this case.
