up to the stop on the camera.
2.3. Controller unit (7) of REMS CamScope and CamScope S
WARNING
Caution: Mains voltage present! Before connecting the electrical device,
check whether the voltage given on the rating plate corresponds to the mains
voltage. On building sites, in a wet environment, indoors and outdoors or under
similar installation conditions, only operate the electrical device on the mains
with a fault current protected switch (FI breaker) which interrupts the power
supply as soon as the leakage current to earth exceeds 30 mA for 200 ms.
The controller unit (7) has an integrated Li-Ion battery. Change the controller
unit battery before start-up. Caution: Mains voltage present! To do so, connect
the power supply/charger to the mains/charger socket (16) of the controller and
a suitable wall socket. The battery charging time is approximately 3 hours. A
full charge lasts for about 2 hours of operation depending on the use. The
controller unit can also be operated with the power supply/Li-Ion charger.
Push the controller unit (7) onto the handheld unit (5) from above until it snaps
into place.
The controller unit (7) can be operated both by radio signal and directly with
the handheld unit (5). Transmission switches over to radio signal transmission
as soon as the controller unit is removed from the handheld unit.
2.3.1. Switching On the Endoscope Camera
The handheld unit (5) is switched on by turning the On/Off thumbwheel (4).
The Power-LED (6) lights. Switch on the controller unit (7) with the On/Off
button (8). Keep the On/Off button pressed for about 1 second. The brightness
of the LEDs on the colour camera can be adjusted by turning the On/Off
thumbwheel (4).
2.3.2. Inserting the MicroSD card
Insert the MicroSD-card in the MicroSD card slot (15). The tip of the arrow on
the MicroSD-card must point towards the display (19). The card snaps into
place. Press again to remove the MicroSD card.
Do not remove the MicroSD card or unplug the USB cable during photo/video
recording and data transfer to the PC because otherwise data will be lost and/
or the MicroSD card could be damaged.
MicroSD cards up to 32 GB can be used.

2.3.3. Menu setting of the controller unit
The controller unit has a menu in which different settings can be made, e.g.
language, frame rate, memory formatting.
Open the menu and navigate
● Keep the Menu button (11) pressed for about 1 s.
● Select the menu item to be changed with the Up/Down buttons (10 and 12).
● Confirm the menu selection with the OK button (9).
● With the Menu button (11) back in the menu, Cancel, exit the menu.

Another menu appears when selecting the system setting:
● Language: to select the menu language German, English, simple Chinese,
French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Japanese, Dutch and Russian
● Video format: must be selected according to the Color camera cable set,
see technical data PAL or NTSC
● Format: Delete all data on the MicroSD-card. Select "Yes" with the Up/Down
button (10/12) and confirm with OK (9).
● Factory setting: Reset controller unit to factory settings. Select "Yes" with
the Up/Down button (10/12) and confirm with OK (9).
● Version: The software version installed in the controller unit is displayed.
Recording settings:
Another menu appears when selecting the recording setting:
● Frame rate: Fps (frames per second) Adjustable from 10 to 30 Fps in steps
of five in REMS CamScope, from 5 to 30 Fps in REMS CamScope S. The
setting of the frames per second determines the quality of the video. The
more frames per second are recorded, the better and smoother the reproduc-
tion. However, more memory is required at a higher frame rate.
● Time stamp: Show date and time in the photo/video. In many cases it is
useful to record the date and time of a recording. This serves for keeping
your own documentation and later processing of the photos and videos. The
date and time of the recording are displayed during later viewing on the
computer when the time stamp is switched on.
● Record mode (only REMS CamScope): Setting for selection of photo or
video recording
Date/time:
The date and time of the controller unit (7) must be set first to make sure that
the time stamp in the video and on the photo show the correct time and date.
The date must be entered in the order year/month/day and the time in hours/
minutes. The entry position is changed with the OK button (9), The value is set
with the Up/Down buttons (10/12). By pressing the Menu button (11) the menu
is exited and the changed date and changed time are saved.
Play:
Show recorded photos/videos (see 3.5).
2.3.4. Connecting to a Computer
When the controller unit is connected to a computer with the USB cable included,
it is set up as a data medium. In REMS CamScope S the controller unit must
be switched on with the On/Off button (8) after plugging in the USB cable. An
icon is displayed on the computer. Minimum requirement of the computer: MS
Windows 2000 with Media-Player, or newer. When the device has been set up
on the computer you can process the videos and photos further as with a hard
disk. for example
Do not remove the MicroSD card or unplug the USB cable during photo/video
transmission. Data could be lost and the MicroSD card damaged.
2.3.5. Using the Video Output
For transmission of the analogue video signal to a suitable display device, e.g.
TV set, beamer, switch off the controller unit and the display unit. Connect the
delivered video cable to the video out socket (14) of the controller unit and the
suitable input sockets of the display unit. Read the operating instructions of the
display unit. Switch on both units. The controller display is off and the picture
is shown on the display unit.
2.4. REMS CamScope Wi-Fi
Use Smartphone/Tablet-PC preferably in portrait format. Switch on Smartphone/
Tablet-PC. Observe the operating instructions of the Smartphone/Tablet-PC.
Download the REMS CamScope Wi-Fi App application software under www.
rems.de under download/software or directly from the Apple App Store or Google
Play and install on the Smartphone/Tablet-PC. Switch on the handheld unit (5)
by turning the On/Off thumbwheel (4). The Power-LED (6) lights green. Switch
on WLAN of the Smartphone/Tablet-PC. Select "WIFICAMERA" from the
displayed list of WLAN devices. Enter the WLAN password "88888888". After
making wireless contact between the handheld unit and the Smartphone/
Tablet-PC, start the REMS CamScope Wi-Fi App application software. The
camera image is displayed. Control the brightness of the colour camera LEDs
by turning the On/Off thumbwheel (4).
3. Operation
3.1. Endoscope camera
After switching on the endoscope camera (see 2.3.1. or 2.4.) the camera image
is shown in the display (19) of the controller unit or in the Smartphone/Tablet-
PC.
NOTICE
Do not kink the camera cable. Note the smallest permissible inside radius,
70 mm with camera cable set Color 9-1, 150 mm with camera cable set Color
16-1.
3.2. Controller unit, Smartphone/Tablet-PC
REMS CamScope, REMS CamScope S: Photos and videos can be saved on
the MicroSD card and with the REMS CamScope S videos with voice recording
whilst watching the object. Sections of the picture can be enlarged by zooming,
in REMS CamScope by pressing the Down button (12) once or several times,
in REMS CamScope S by pressing the Delete/Zoom button (22) once or several
times. The respective zoom factor is shown in the display.
REMS CamScope Wi-Fi: Photos and videos can be saved on the Smartphone/
Tablet-PC whilst watching the object, videos optionally with voice recording.
3.3. Record/save photo
REMS CamScope: Change to the photo mode with the Up (10) button. A photo
camera icon is shown in the display (19). The photo is recorded saved on the
MicroSD-card by pressing the OK (9) button.
REMS CamScope S: The photo is recorded saved on the MicroSD-card by
pressing the Record Photo (25) button.
REMS CamScope Wi-Fi: The photo is recorded saved on the Smartphone/
Tablet-PC by tapping the Record Photo (25) button.
3.4. Record/save video
REMS CamScope: Change to the video mode with the Up (10) button. A video
camera icon is shown in the display (19). Start a video recoding by pressing
the OK (9) button. Stop the video recoding by pressing the OK (9) button again.
The video is saved on the MicroSD-card.
REMS CamScope S: Start a video recoding with voice recording by pressing
the Record Video (24) button. Stop the video recoding with voice recording by
pressing the Record Video button again. The video with voice recording is
saved on the MicroSD-card.
REMS CamScope Wi-Fi: Start video recoding by tapping the Record Video
(24) button. If the video is to be recorded with a voice over, tap the Menu (11)
button first and then set the voice recording (27) button to ON. The voice
recording is made by the microphone of the Smartphone/Tablet-PC. The recoding
is stopped by tapping the Record Video button again. The video is saved on
the Smartphone/Tablet. Switch off voice recording by tapping the voice recording
(27) button again.
