b) Do not use a power tool with a defective switch. A power tool which cannot
be switched on and off is dangerous and must be repaired.
c) Pull the plug out of the socket and/or remove the battery before setting the
tool, changing accessories or putting tool away. This safety precaution
prevents unintentional starting of the power tool.
d) Keep power tools out of reach of children when not in use. Do not allow
persons to use the tool who are not familiar with it or have not read these
instructions. Power tools are dangerous when used by inexperienced persons.
e) Handle the power tool with care. Check that the moving parts are working
perfectly and do not jam, that no parts are broken or damaged and that the
function of the power tool is not impaired. Have damaged parts repaired
before using the device. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained
power tools.
f) Use power tools, accessories and insert tools etc. according to these
instructions. Take the working conditions and activity being performed into
consideration. The use of power tools for purposes for which they are not
intended can lead to dangerous situations.
g) Keep handles and gripping surfaces dry, clean and free from oil and grease.
Slippery handles and gripping surfaces prevent safe handling and control of the
power tool in unforeseeable situations.
5) Use and handling of cordless tools
a) Only charge the batteries in chargers recommended by the manufacturer.
A charger designed for a certain battery type can cause a fire when it is used
with other batteries.
b) Only use the specified batteries in the power tools. The use of other batteries
can lead to injury and fire.
c) Keep unused batteries away from paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws
or other small metal objects which could cause bridging of the contacts.
A short circuit between the battery contacts can cause burns or fire.
d) Incorrect use can lead to leakage of liquid from the battery. Avoid contact
with this. Wash off with water in case of accidental contact. Consult a doctor
if you get the liquid in your eyes. Leaking battery fluid can cause skin irritation
and burns.
e) Do not use a damaged or modified battery. Damaged or modified batteries
can behave unexpectedly and lead to fires, explosions or injuries.
f) Do not expose a battery for fire or high temperatures. Fire or temperatures
above 130 °C (265 °F) can cause an explosion.
g) Follow all the instructions for charging and never charge the battery or the
cordless tool outside the temperature range specified in the operating
instructions. Incorrect charging or charging outside the permitted temperature
range can destroy the battery and increase the fire risk.
6) Service
a) Have your power tool repaired only by qualified technical personnel and
only with genuine spare parts. This ensures that the safety of the device is
maintained.
b) Never service damaged batteries. All maintenance of batteries should only be
carried out by the manufacturer or authorised customer service points.

Use for the intended purpose
WARNING
The REMS CamScope, REMS CamScope S and REMS CamScope Wi-Fi endoscope cameras are used for the inspection and damage analysis of locations with
difficult access such as cavities, shafts, pipes, drains, chimneys etc. and serve for documenting the inspection results in the form of photos and videos, in the REMS
CamScope S and CamScope Wi-Fi in the form of videos with voice recording. All camera cable sets are protected against occasional submersion in water (IP 67).
All other uses are not for the intended purpose and are therefore prohibited.
● Do not insert the camera cable set into human or animal orifices. There is
a risk of injury.
● Children and persons who, due to their physical, sensory or mental abilities

Safety instructions for rechargeable batteries/batteries
WARNING
Read all the safety notes and instructions. Failure to heed the safety notes and
instructions can lead to electric shock, fire and/or severe injuries.
Keep all safety notes and instructions for the future.
● Use the battery and the power supply/charger only in the specified operating
temperature range.
● Charge the battery of the controller unit (7) only with the power supply/
charger of REMS CamScope, REMS CamScope S. There is a risk of fire when
an unsuitable charger is used.
● Charge the battery of the controller unit (7) to full capacity with the power
supply/charger before using for the first time to get full battery performance.
Batteries are delivered partly charged.
● Protect the batteries against heat, sunlight, fire, moisture and wet. There is
a risk of explosion and fire.
● Do not use the batteries in areas where there is a risk of explosion and in
the vicinity of inflammable gases, solvents, dust, fumes, liquids for example.
There is a risk of explosion and fire.
● Do not open the batteries or modify their construction. There is a risk of
explosion and fire due to short-circuiting.
● Do not use batteries with damaged housings or damaged contacts. Damage
to or improper use of batteries can cause fumes to escape. The fumes can irritate
the respiratory tracts. Let in fresh air and consult a doctor in case of symptoms.
● Avoid contact with leaking batteries. Do not touch the fluid. Leaking battery
fluid can cause skin irritation and burns. Rinse off immediately with water in case
of contact. Also consult a doctor if the fluid gets into the eyes.
● Observe the safety instructions on the battery and the rapid charger.
● Keep unused batteries away from paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws
or other small metal objects which could cause bridging of the contacts.
There is a risk of explosion and fire due to short-circuiting.
● Pay attention to the position of the plus and minus poles when inserting
the batteries. There is a risk of explosion and fire due to short-circuiting.
● Remove the batteries from the handheld unit (5) before longer periods of
inoperation/storage. Protect the battery contacts against short-circuiting, e.g.
with a cap. This reduces the risk of fluids escaping from the battery.
● Do not throw damaged/empty batteries in the normal household waste.
Hand the damaged/empty batteries over to an authorised REMS contract service
workshop or a recognised disposal company. Observe the national regulations.
● Keep batteries out of reach of children. Batteries can be life threatening if
swallowed, seek medical assistance immediately.
● Take the batteries out of the handheld unit (5) when they are empty. This
reduces the risk of fluids escaping from the batteries.
● Never recharge the batteries, open them, throw them on fires or create a
short-circuit. The batteries can cause fires and burst. There is a risk of injury.
