ACCESS DOOR REPLACEMENT
TOOLS REQUIRED:
• #1 Phillips Screwdriver
• Small Regular Screwdriver
• 5/32 in. Allen Wrench
• Medium Strength Thread Locker (or equivalent)
PROCEDURE:
Note
Unless otherwise indicated, refer to
Figure 28, at right, for this procedure.
1.
Raise the siderail to be repaired to
the highest position and apply the
brakes.
2.
Using a #1 Phillips screwdriver,
remove the eight screws (A)
holding the bottom half of the
siderail lower plastic cover (B) to
the top half of the siderail lower
plastic cover (C). If the siderail
is equipped with moving access
doors, open them to reach the two
screws located at the ends of the
top half of the lower plastic cover
(see Figure 24,
page
1-56).
3.
Insert a small regular screwdriver
between the two halves of the
siderail lower cover to separate
them.
Use
caution
scratching the covers or damaging
the snap pins. Remove the lower cover.
4.
Using a 5/32 in. Allen wrench, remove the two Allen screws (A) holding the spacer (B) and the bottom half of the
lower hinge mechanism (C) to the access door. Keep the spacer and the hinge.
Note
Apply medium strength Thread Locker to the Allen screw threads before replacing the screws.
5.
Remove the access door by moving the lower end of the door to the left or right and disengaging it from the upper
hinge.
6.
Reverse the above steps to install the new access door.
7.
Verify proper operation of the access door before returning the stretcher to service.
