HEAD SECTION SUPPORT ARM REPLACEMENT
TOOLS REQUIRED:
• Long Needle Nose Pliers
• Bungee Cords (or equivalent)
PROCEDURE:
1.
Lower the rails completely and apply the brakes.
2.
Raise and support the head section using bungee
cords (or equivalent).
3.
Using long needle nose pliers, remove the two inner
cotter pins (A) holding the support arm (B) in place.
4.
Remove the defective support arm and the nylon
shoulder bushings (C). Inspect the nylon shoulder
bushings and replace if needed.
5.
Reverse the above steps to install the new head
section support arm.
6.
Verify proper operation of the head section before
returning the stretcher to service.
HEAD SECTION ACTIVATION LEVER REPLACEMENT
TOOLS REQUIRED:
• (2) 7/16 in. Combination Wrenches
• #2 Phillips Screwdriver
• 5/32 in. Allen Wrench
PROCEDURE:
1.
Raise the head section to the highest position, lower
the rails completely and apply the brakes.
2.
Using a #2 Phillips screwdriver, remove the nine screws
(B) holding the protective plate (A) to the litter frame.
3.
Using two 7/16 in. combination wrenches, loosen the
two nuts holding the cable to the activation lever (D).
Remove the cable from the activation lever.
4.
Using
a 5/32 in. Allen Wrench and a 7/16 in.
combination wrench, remove the locknut, washer and
shoulder screw (C) holding the activation lever to the
litter frame. Remove the defective activation lever.
5.
Install the new activation lever and reconnect the cable
end to the lever.
6.
In order for the head section to function properly, the
cable end nuts must be adjusted. Ensure there is no
play in the activation lever.
7.
Verify proper operation of the head section before
returning the stretcher to service.
