Appendix D: Enabling Email Notification
Step 4: Select Event Type
Next, select the event type that you wish to trigger an email notification. For example, you may
only want all Motion events to trigger an email notification.
NOTE: You must enable Motion recording in order for the system to send out Motion email
notifications. For details on enabling Motion recording, see "Using the Recording Menu" on
page 76.
1. From the Main menu, click EVENT/SENSOR.
• The Event / Sensor window opens.
2. Click the E-MAIL NOTIFICATION tab on the left.
• The Email Notification window opens.
3. Configure the following:
• NOTIFICATION: Select ON to enable email notifications.
• SETUP CHANGE: Select ON to enable email notifications if the system's settings change.
• HDD EVENT: Select ON to enable email notifications if a system hard drive error occurs.
• BOOTING EVENT: Select ON to enable email notifications if the system restarts.
4. Select the type of events you wish to trigger an email notification:
• Alarm: Sends an email notification if an alarm in the system alarm block activates.
• Video Loss: Sends an email notification if video loss occurs in any of the channels.
• Motion: Sends an email notification if the system detects motion in one of the channels.
5. Beside FREQUENCY, select the duration you want the email notification to be sent (i.e. every 5
minutes, every 10 minutes).
6. Click APPLY to save your settings.
