Operating conditions
11.1.1
Ambient temperature and installation site altitude
If the ambient temperature exceeds +40°C or if the motor is more than 1,000 metres above sea
level, the motor power (P2) must be reduced due to the lower air density and the resulting dimin-
ished cooling effect. In such cases it may be necessary to choose a larger motor.

As a fundamental rule, the max. ambient temperature of +40°C should not be exceeded.
11.1.2
Maximum permissible operating pressure and fluid temperature for shaft seal
The operating range of a shaft seal is dependent on the operating pressure, the fluid temperature
and the type of shaft seal. The selection chart shows which shaft seal is suitable for which fluid
temperature and operating pressure. See Fig. 25. The chart applies to clean water.
