Safety

Work that is carried out incorrectly can cause serious injury or damage.
Set up work must only be performed by trained and qualified personnel. Observe the safety
regulations in the operating instructions, paying particular attention to the section entitled
"Safety inspection".
If the following specifications are ignored, there is a high risk of very serious injury
and damage.
All the data given in the section "Connections on the LaserHybrid head" must be complied
with.
Unsuitable and inadequately maintained extractor hoses are a fire hazard! The ex-
tractor hose (illustrated in the section headed "Connections on the LaserHybrid
head") must be:
► suitable for extracting magnesium and aluminium-laden welding fumes
► cleaned every 300 operating hours to remove all aluminium and magnesium dust

General

The specifications given below define the equipment and characteristics of the connected
peripheral devices to be provided by the customer. Observe the characteristics (e.g. pres-
sure, volumetric flow) prescribed for individual connections. Non-compliance with specifi-
cations shall cause all warranty claims to be forfeited.
The LaserHybrid head comes with a Trumpf laser optics system as standard. Only a
Trumpf laser with a suitable optical fibre and cooling unit for the optics system may be con-
nected to the series LaserHybrid head. The focal length for the Trumpf optics system is F
= 220 mm.
Optionally, the LaserHybrid head is also available with a Rofin-Sinar optics system (focal
length F > 220 mm).
There are two possible configurations for the arc process:
TPS 4000 / 5000 power source with ROB 4000 / 5000 robot interface or field-bus coupler
and VR 1500 F++ wire drive
Also observe the manufacturers' instructions regarding the safety and commissioning of
laser, extraction and compressed air devices, and the operating instructions for the power
source and wirefeeders.
The overview on the next page shows the available connections and, where necessary,
the characteristics prescribed for them.
