4. Replace the steel wire ropes if there are damages or
if the diameter is less than 10.0/0.39 mm.
To do maintenance on the winches and
the steel wire ropes
1. Lubricate the steel wire ropes regularly. Correctly
lubricated steel wire ropes supply the winches with
necessary lubrication.
CAUTION:
steel wire ropes with lubricants that
contain molybdenum disulphide (MoS2)
or PTFE. Use a standard multi-purpose
oil or grease.

2. Use gear oil of the correct type to fill or replace the
oil in the gearbox of the winches. Refer to
data on page 41 .
3. Clean the winch motor housing if it is very dirty to
make sure that the winch motor does not become
too hot.
4. Make sure that there is no oil or grease on the motor
brake. The motor brake is only necessary to clean if
unusual operation conditions causes very much dirt.
