4.12.1 FIXED GUARDS
Fixed protections consist of fixed guards and/or casings installed on the product, whose function is to prevent
access to internal parts or moving parts during the operating cycle. With the exclusion of the tool area (e.g. cutting
blade/ harvesting head/ chain, etc.) where it is not possible to have guards because of the specific functionality of
the equipment.
Placed in restricted access areas during maintenance, they require specific tools for their removal.
Fixed protections are the protective shells of the product's mechanics.
DANGER
It is absolutely forbidden to operate the product, following maintenance, without properly reinstalling the fixed
guards, as well as to use it without them.
It is strictly forbidden to tamper with the product by attempting, by any means, to circumvent a fixed protection
by taking advantage of possible indirect passages due to but failed or partial repositioning of protections or
where all fixing screws have not been repositioned as originally intended by the manufacturer.
NOTE
Periodically check the integrity of the fixed guards and their fixings, paying particular attention to the access
guards to the product mechanics.
4.12.2
DEVICE AGAINST ELECTRICAL OVERLOAD
The product is equipped with a fuse used to protect electrical circuits from current overloads.
The function of the fuse is to interrupt the electric current in the circuit if it exceeds the permitted, pre-determined
limit.
A 15 A blade fuse is mounted on the tool and is BLUE in colour.
Current overloads can result from malfunctions in tool operation or faults that cause short circuits.
CAUTION
Using unsuitable fuses, repairing fuses or jumpering the electrical circuit without fuses can lead to fire and
serious injury.
•
Never install fuses with a higher amperage than prescribed. A defective/broken fuse must be
replaced with one with the same amperage (same colour and lettering) and the same size.
•
Never try to repair fuses.
•
Never replace a fuse with a metal strip, clip or similar object.
NOTE
Check the integrity of the 15 A fuse (BLUE colour) periodically and before each use. Control and/or
replacement methods are provided in paragraph 7.1.3.
