6. FITTING
FITTING PLATES, ARTICULATION ARMS AND THE TUBE
1.
Position the underrun bar on the vehicle in order to adhere to the dimensions imposed by regulation
R58-03:
• G in relation to the ground, depending on the vehicle (see table 3).
• P max. depending on the bar (see table 2).
2.
Drill through the side rails and the plates (Nos. 1 and 2) if necessary with ∅15
accordance with the permitted installation diagrams (see figure 9, 13 and 15).

Mount the M8 screw (No. 10) on the plate (Nos. 1 and 2) with the washer (No. 9) on the thin nut side
(11).
4.
Attach each plate (Nos. 1 and 2) to the side rail.
Low plate: 8 x M14 or M16 class 10.9 screws, tighten to the torque specified in table 1 (M14 class 10.9
screw kit ref.: 29.4544101 optional not supplied).
High plate: 14 x M14 or M16 class 10.9 screws, tighten to the torque specified in table 1 (M14 class
10.9 screw kit ref.: 29.4544102 optional not supplied).
5.
Grease the arms' rotating shaft and contact surfaces (Nos. 3 and 4).
6.
Assemble the articulation arms (Nos. 3 and 4) on the plates (Nos. 1 and 2) using the 2 nuts (No. 6) and
M33 washers (No. 5) supplied. The nut (No. 6) must be tightened to ensure contact between the
components, but there should be pressure between them to permit rotation.

Check that grease fittings are present (rotating shaft and catch), and apply grease prior to the 1

Place the arms (Nos. 3 and 4) in their high position and check they are locked.
