2. INSTALLATION AND USE PRECAUTIONS
Please note that:
Fitting, maintenance and servicing of the underrun bar must comply with regulation R58-03. These operations must be
-
performed by qualified and accredited personnel. The standard practices of each specialised trade (mechanics,
hydraulics, electricity and pneumatics) must be respected.
Original or replacement assembly and installation of the hydraulic underrun bar kit must comply with the provisions of
-
Machinery Directive 2006/42 of 17th May 2006.
•
Before performing any work on the vehicle, disconnect the battery and reduce the pressure in the hydraulic
and pneumatic circuits.
•
For all handling, installation and maintenance operations, wear the appropriate personal protection equipment
(gloves, safety glasses, shoes, etc.) as required and specified in the safety data sheets (hydraulic fluid, for
example).
•
During fitting, testing and servicing, ensure a safety perimeter has been established around the zone in which
the bar is deployed.
• All welds must comply with the specifications of guide 2905926FT (available on our website).
• The hydraulic controls should be installed in such a way that the bar movements can be seen by the operator. If
controls are installed in the cab, arrangements must be made to provide a view of the zone in which the underrun
bar is deployed from the cab. If controls are installed on the rear of the vehicle, the location of the controls must
provide a view of the underrun bar's movements and prevent any risk to the operator. The operator must be able
to ensure that there are no personnel at risk in danger areas. If this is not possible, the control system must be
designed and built such that any activation is preceded by an audible and/or visual warning signal.
• Hydraulic controls must be used for the underrun bar only: these components are designed and intended to
control the underrun bar only.
• Electric cables and hydraulic pipes must be adequately protected to prevent any risk of damage during use of
the underrun bar.
• In the event of work, check the equipotential bonding of connections.
