5. SIDE RAIL INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS: 4 POSSIBLE INSTALLATION OPTIONS
1.1 Welded fitting:
If the chassis manufacturer's bodywork fitting instructions allows, a qualified operator can weld the plates Nos. 1 & 2
(see section 1 – kit composition) onto the side rails or chassis.
For this purpose, the following weld beads are required:
2 vertical beads, min. 170mm, and 1 horizontal bead, min. 230mm, with min. 5 mm weld cross-section.
Note: it is preferable to weld in the upper section of the plate.
1.2 Bolted fitting:
There are several possible installation diagrams depending on the plate used:

(*) Should the diagram shown above not be applicable, more complex diagrams may be proposed. These
diagrams should be validated by POMMIER and will be the subject of an official report which should be attached to
the vehicle incoming inspection file.
These reports should demonstrate that the shear forces in each of the screws are all less than the reference
values obtained in an approval test of the following type:
