When the fire becomes powerful you must turn
off the key in order to force the fume to heat the
other parts of the device. Both the cooker and the
thermal cooker are designed to work with the key
WARNING! It is important that the wood starts to burn quickly. The ignition of a large
quantity of wood during ignition can cause a large production of smoke and a rapid emis-
sion of gas with consequent damage to cooker or thermal cooker.

AIR INTAKE REGULATION
On all models of S Range there are three adjust
ments for the air: external air intake lever, primary
and secondary air regulation, air adjustment for
glass cleaning. On ST thermal cookers there is an
additional regulation regarding the secondary air.
The entrance of comburent air inside the device is
ruled by a valve controlled by a lever placed below
the fire door. The valve is closed in the right po
sition while it is open in the left position. For the
regulation of this device see picture 28. If the de
vice with oven has the flue outlet on the left side,
the regulation of the lever is symmetrical (valve
closed in left position, open in right position).
The open position is indicated when the device is
working. It allows the entrance of the combustive
air necessary to feed the flame. The cooker or
thermal cooker cannot work with the lever in
closed position.
In presence of a hood with high draught it could
be useful to set the lever at an intermediate po
sition, in order to obtain a partial opening of the
air conduct.
The primary air regulator, located on the front of
the appliance, is controlled by a graduated knob

that controls the combustion speed. Low values
guarantee less power and greater autonomy. High
values guarantee more power and less autonomy.
The regulator is automatic and has the function of
keeping constant the heat produced by the cook
er/thermal cooker over time.
The secondary air is automatically controlled ac
cording to both the air intake lever opening setting
and the primary air setting and to the actual oper
ating and draft conditions of the appliance.
The air introduced at the fire door is set in such a
way as to allow optimum combustion and mainte
nance of clean glass.
When the cooker/thermal cooker is switched off,
it is suggested to close the lever below the fire
door in order to limit the undesired air flow that
may cause an anticipated cooling of the device and
the room. This operation is particularly important
when the external air intake of the device is direct
ly connected.
Generally, for an optimal working of the device, it
is suggested to follow the indications for the regu
lation of air reported in table 4.
