13. Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) Management

13.1.12 SNMP Trap Configuration

To set the destination for SNMP traps sent by the switch, click on the "New Trap" icon to enter the host receiver for the SNMP traps, then
follow the steps below to create a new trap (Figure 13.11):
1. Destination IP – Enter the destination IP address of the trap receiver (if security mode is V1 or V2, click the "Save" icon to add the SNMP
trap receiver host).
2. Security Mode – Set the destination security mode to either V1, V2, or V3. This setting must match the security mode of the trap
destination host 13.1.6.4 Address Type – The switch only supports sending to IPv4 host destinations.
3. Security Name – If SNMP v3 security mode is selected, select the SNMP user from the drop-down list.
4. UDP Port Number – Default port is 162 and cannot be changed.
5. Click "Save" to save the Trap Destination Host. Click "Exit" to cancel changes.
To edit a Trap Destination Host configuration, click the "Edit" icon to make the needed changes (Figure 13.12). Click "Save" to save
changes. Click "Exit" to discard changes
To delete a trap destination host, click on the red
name and click the "Delete Selected Trap" icon. Once confirmed, the trap destination host will be deleted. To delete multiple trap destination
hosts, click the checkbox next to each of the entries to be deleted, then click the "Delete Select User" icon. Once confirmed, the selected
trap destination hosts will be deleted.
