7.3 Access Control Lists (ACLs)

Access Control Lists give devices on the network the ability to grant access to or ignore requests from certain users and systems to available
network resources.
To configure the ACL, go to "Fault/Safety
1. Name the timetable. Enter a check mark for the days you want the timetable to be applied. Next, enter the interval times for the
timetable. (Figure 7.18). Multiple timetables per group can be created. You can edit ACL timetables by clicking the edit icon and
adjusting the days and times. To save edits, click the "Save" button. Click "Cancel" to discard changes. If a timetable is no longer
needed, click the delete icon to remove it from the list.
2. Next, create a rule to permit or deny access by configuring the ACL against the timetables. Select the ACL tab and click the "Create ACL"
button. In the new ACL access rule window (Figure 7.19), set the ACL Number from 100-199, the permission action of Permit or Deny,
the Protocol Type (IP , UDP , or TCP), and the ACL Name to which the rule will apply from the drop-down list. If the rule will apply to any
source or destination IP addresses, leave the default boxes checked for these two options. To specify a single source or destination IP
address, uncheck the applicable box to get the option to enter the single IP address or the IP address and subnet mask. If configuring
the rule for TCP or UDP for a single source or destination port, uncheck any source port check box. Next, enter the single source or
destination port addresses from 0-65535. Once configured, click the "Save" button. To delete the rule to set to permit or deny ACL
configuration, click the red
3. Select the Apply ACL tab, to configure ACLs to a single or to multiple Ethernet ports. Enter the ACL Number of the applicable rule, then
click "Save".
Note: Configured and active ACLs may be deleted by following the steps above in the reverse order.
