14. System Management
The System Settings (Figure 14.1) allow you to set the switch's system configuration; perform system updates; save, back up and restore
configurations; save boot-up configurations; set administration privileges and view information about the switch configuration.
14.1 System Configuration
To set the switch configuration and configure the system time, enter the following:
Basic System Information – Enter the required features along with the optional Information updates:
Management VLAN – Select the required Management VLAN from the drop-down list. To select another VLAN to be the management
VLAN, it must first be created in the VLAN settings (Section 4.1). Click "Set Management VLAN" when finished.
Management IP – Enter the required management VLAN IP address.
Subnet Mask – Enter the required subnet mask of the management VLAN.
Default Gateway – Enter the gateway IP address if required.
Jumbo Frames – By default, the Jumbo frames are set to 1518. It can be set between 1518 ~ 9216 frames.
DNS Server – Enter the IP address of the DNS server if required.
Login Timeout (Minutes) – By default, the logout timer is set to 30 minutes. It can be set to any time period between 0 and
86400 minutes.
Device MAC – The MAC address of the switch.
Device Name – By default, the model name of the switch is entered, but can be changed to suit the application usage
(limit: 32 characters).
Device Location – Enter the switch's device location (limit: 32 characters).
Contacts (included mailbox) – Enter the contacts' email addresses.
Click "Save" to save settings.
