Summary of Safety Precautions
WARNING - CONTINUED
• Only use the Transfer Flat for patient transfers between fixed patient support
surfaces that are level with one another.
• Do not power wash. The Transfer Flat is not designed to be power washable.
Risk of airborne contamination may cause injury to users.
• SOME CLEANING PRODUCTS ARE CORROSIVE IN NATURE AND MAY
CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE PRODUCT IF USED IMPROPERLY. If the products
described on
page 1-15
must be taken to ensure the products are wiped with clean water and air
dried thoroughly following cleaning.
• Failure to properly clean or dispose of contaminated Transfer Flats increases
the risk of exposure to bloodborne pathogens and may cause injury to the
patient or the operator.
CAUTION
• The Transfer Flat should not be used as a permanent surface on any patient
support platform.
• Do not store the Transfer Flat in direct sunlight or in a moist environment.
Keep device and equipment out of direct contact with flames.
• To avoid the risk of damage, the Transfer Flat must be stored where the
temperature range is between -22 to 158 degrees Fahrenheit (-30 to 70
degrees Celsius).
• Using the transfer flat to drag a patient could compromise patient comfort
and risk further injury.
• Always abide to industry approved lifting and patient handling techniques
with every patient.
• Avoid surfaces that could damage the transfer flat.
• Always inspect the product for damage before and after each use.
• Discard any transfer flat that has been damaged due to excessive wear.
• Read this manual carefully before using the unit. Always follow correct
operation procedures as outlined in this manual.
