MAINTENANCE

Maintenance should only be performed by qualified personnel "Personnel qualification" p. 23 using sui-
table tools and working methods.

Use of non-specific spare parts

Genuine spare parts guarantee the reliability and safety of the operation of the fan: in the event of mainte-
nance/replacement, you must consult the spare parts list and the part lists used and the relevant technical
documentation included in this manual.
In the event of replacement of safety devices, it is necessary to maintain the operating and safety
characteristics of the original device, giving priority to replacement with an identical component.

Lack of maintenance

A correct ordinary maintenance maintains the original integrity or restore the efficiency of the fan itself,
while at the same time containing the normal degradation deriving from the use.
Extraordinary maintenance can also extend the service life of the machine and/or, alternatively, improve
efficiency, reliability, productivity, maintainability and inspection.

Preliminary safety operations

Before cleaning and/or maintenance, the procedure for securing the fan must be applied (lock-out – tag-
out).
1.
switch and padlock it in position, to avoid operating with the fan running and live electric parts (lock-

2. in case the distance between the breaking switch and the fan does not allow the visibility of
maintenance interventions, apply the appropriate safety signs on the breaking switch: "Machine under
Maintenance"( tag-out).
3. check that the electric power has been cut off/isolated by means of a suitable voltage meter.
The capacitor in single-phase motors can maintain a charge that appears across the motor terminals
even when the motor is now stationary. Wait for approximately 10 minutes after disconnecting the
power line for a full discharge.
4. lock the fan, to avoid any movement due to the windmill effect.
5. in the event that maintenance work is required in areas with reduced brightness, portable lamps must
be used to ensure adequate visibility for the personnel involved in the operation.
During maintenance/cleaning in relation to specific risks, the following personal protective equipment must
be used:
