rEaGENts / aPParatus
1 - 0.1N sodium thiosulfate
2 - Potassium iodide in powder
3 - 25% sulfuric acid
4 - Starch powder
5 - Pipettes 10 ml
6 - 250 ml Erlenmeyer flask
ProcEDurE
1 - Take 10 ml of the chlorinated solution and introduce them into the 250 ml Erlenmeyer flask.
2 - Add 1 g of potassium iodide
3 - Add 10 ml of 25% sulfuric acid
4 - Shake the solution for two minutes.
5 - Titrate with 0.1N sodium thiosulfate until almost complete discoloration (stop at a light yellow color
/ if you go too far, the solution will fade completely and you have to start the operation again)
6 - Add a tip of starch spatula powder (the solution becomes blue)
7 - Finish titrating with thiosulphate until complete discoloration.
8 - Let V be the total volume of thiosulphate poured in ml.
