The factors listed below may have an impact on the oxidant requirements of an individual water system,
the oxidant production of the ECO MX NANO electrolyser system or the operational life expectancy of the cell.
The "worst case scenario" should be applied given that water quality can vary from one season to the next.
Concentrations and analyses of the brine feed water and/or treated water which fall below these thresholds
are not considered as likely to have an impact.
It's strongly recommended to install a softener on the ECO MX NANO electrolyser water supply system.

* Cation water softeners will remove these components up to a certain limit. Refer to the water softener
documentation for information related to the ferrous iron and manganese maximums. Total water hardness
will only have an impact on the operational life expectancy of the cell if the high hardness requires the use of
acid to remove any carbonate deposits on the cell. Using softened water with hardness below 5 mg/l should
not require acid washing the cell.
** Oxidant demand is affected regardless of the H2S, ammonia/organic nitrate or TOC levels. Iron can lead to
Fe(OH)3 deposits on the anode, forming a barrier which will increase the signal voltage of the brine pump (brine
pump speed) such that the system can reach its operational regime. Chlorine production will stay the same but
salt conversion efficiency may be decreased. The same effect will occur with silica deposits on the cathode.
*** The temperature of the water affects the concentration of the product and can vary from 0.5 to 1 gr/l
in production. The operating time of the system also increases, faster wear of the reactor and accessories is
observed as well as the formation of products derived from production. All of its factors favor the deterioration
of PVC and their lifetimes.
