10.4 clEaNING tHE ElEctrolysIs cEll
The electrolysis cell may need cleaning to remove scale or impurities.
Frequency:
- As required, depending on amount of scale on the cell.
- During annual maintenance (see chapter 10.1)
- During general maintenance (see chapter 10.2)
10.4.1 rinsing with water
Procedure:
- Disconnect power to the unit.
- Remove the protective cover from the unit after removing the 2 screws from the sides.
- Disconnect the production hose from the connector ⓬.
- Connect the purge hose (int. diam. 10 mm) to the connector ❿.
- Open the purge valve ⓭ of the cell ⓮ and empty all of the solution.
- Close the purge valve ⓭.
- Disconnect the hose (int. diam. 10 mm) from the connector ❿.
- Reconnect the production hose to the connector ⓬.
- Once the rinsing is finished, complete the dedicated service data sheet.
- Replace the protective cover.
- Return the system to operation following the procedure described in the "RECOMMISSIONING" chapter.
10.4.2 rinsing with acid
This procedure requires the use of the P0007659 acid cleaning solution. Contact BWT for more information.
Warning, PPE must be used: gloves, protective goggles/mask, suitable overalls.
- Disconnect power to the unit.
- Remove the protective cover from the unit after removing the 2 screws from the sides.
- Disconnect the production hose from the connector ⓬.
- Connect the purge hose to the connector ❿.
- Open the purge valve ⓭ of the cell ⓮ and empty all of the solution.
- Close the purge valve ⓭.
- Disconnect the hose from the connector ❿.
