To install the Windows driver and the screen fonts, follow the
instructions shown below.
1. In Program Manager, click File in the menu bar.
2. Click Run.
3. Insert the Printer Driver Disk into the computer's A: drive
(or B: drive).
4. Type the following:
A:\INSTALL
If you are using the B: drive, be sure to substitute B: for A: in the
above example.
5. Follow the instructions that appear on the computer screen.
Note:
If your printer is connected to the computer's serial interface,

you also need to configure the "port" setting. For full
information on printer setup with Windows, see your Microsoft
Windows user's guide.
If you use DOS or emulations other than HP LaserJet 4L, you
o
can use drivers other than the Windows driver included in the
printer box. For more information on other emulations, see
"EPSON LQ and FX Emulation Modes" in Chapter 1.
For DOS users
The utility disk packed with your printer contains the Remote Control
Panel utility. When you are running under DOS, you can use this
utility to access the printer's control panel settings. For detailed
information, see Chapter 4, "Remote Control Panel Utility," in the
Reference Guide.
