Installing the Options
You can expand the printer's capabilities by adding the following options:
250-Sheet Lower Paper Cassette (C81230]) to load up to 250 sheets of
A4-size paper into this cassette.
Face-up Output Tray (C81231]) to allow the printer to deliver paper face-up
for immediate viewing of your printed output.
A 1MB, 2MB, or 4MB SIMM to increase your printer's memory.
An optional EpsonScript Level 2 module (C83212]) or EpsonScript Level 2
cartridge (C83202]), which generates crisp documents that have been written
in PostScript
EPSON® C83213] Optional Kit for Microsoft® At Work Printing Software,
which extends the power of the Windows operating system version 3.1 to
your printer. See "ROM Module" to install.
Optional Type-B interfaces, including serial, parallel, coax, twinax, and
LocalTalk.
Optional cartridges to provide many different typefaces in addition to your
printer's internal fonts. The list of compatible font cartridges from various
vendors begins on page D-22.
Each of these options is discussed in its own section.
If you purchased your printer and options at the same time, first set up the printer
and run the print test by following the instructions in the Getting Ready! guide.
Then install the options.

Lower Paper Cassette
This section covers only the steps to install the lower paper cassette. Since it can
be used as an integral part of the printer after installation is complete, see the
relevant chapters for information on loading paper, selecting the cassette, or
troubleshooting.
