EPSON's RITech (Resolution Improvement Technology) produces
smoother and crisper lines, text, and graphics. You will probably
never have to change the factory setting, which is MEDIUM, but if
you do you can then produce a test print to check the results.

If you change the setting, you can check the print quality by printing a
test pattern. To print the pattern, press r three times. The printer prints
the pattern at the current RITech setting.

After you print the RITech pattern, SelecType settings return to
their current defaults and the printer clears its memory,
including any downloaded font data.

STANDBY
When STANDBY is enabled, the printer enters the Standby mode if
no data is received for 15 minutes. In this mode, the printer requires
much less power. When data is received or any button is pressed while
the printer is in the Standby mode, it requires about 35 seconds to
warm up before starting operation.
