X is the RX-BUFFER SIZE setting.
Note:
The O appears only when the printer has an optional interface
installed.
Use u and d to select the channel for which you want to set
the receive buffer size. Then press r to advance to the next submenu.

Press u and d to change the size of the receive buffer in 1 KB steps.
Holding down either button changes the setting at high speed in 10
KB steps. The following table shows the default, minimum, and
maximum settings for the available buffer sizes. The settings vary
depending on the total amount of RAM installed in your printer.
Total RAM (MB)
1MB ≤ RAM ≤ 2MB
2MB ≤ RAM ≤ 4MB
4MB ≤ RAM ≤ 5 MB
Note:
If you make the receive buffer too large, you may get an error
message telling you to add memory.
