Setting up the printer driver
After you confirm that your computer and printer are connected
correctly, you need to set up the appropriate printer driver. A printer
driver allows your software program to control the operation of the
printer by translating a document's margins, fonts, and other
selections into control codes that the printer understands.
The driver disk comes with your printer. If you use Microsoft
Windows™ 3.1 or later, you can set up the printer driver for LaserJet
4L™ emulation with this disk. The Windows printer driver provides
the best performance with your printer.
Your computer system must meet the following minimum
requirements to use the Windows driver contained on the driver disk.
Microsoft Windows 3.1 or later
