WORKING IN SAFE CONDITIONS!
Please note - In is important to follow these instructions to
ensure personal safety.
Please note – These instructions contain important safety
information, so they should be stored.
The design and manufacture of the devices making up the
product and the information in this manual fully comply
with current standards governing safety. However, incorrect
installation or programming may cause serious physical injury
to those working on or using the system. For this reason, during
installation it is important to strictly observe all the instructions
given in this manual.
If there are any doubts regarding the installation, do not proceed and
contact the Moovo Technical Assistance Service for clarifications.
If this is the first time you are setting up an automation for garage doors
(sectional or up-and-over), we recommend that you read this entire
manual carefully. This should be done before starting any work, without
rushing to start practical tasks.
Moreover, keep product devices on hand while consulting the manual
to allow you to read, test and check (with the exception of the
programming phases) the information provided in the manual.
While reading this manual, take care to observe all instructions
marked with the following symbol:
These symbols indicate subjects that may be the source of
potential hazards and therefore the prescribed operations must
be performed exclusively by qualified and skilled personnel, in
accordance with these instructions and the current applicable
safety standards.
INSTALLATION WARNINGS
According to the latest European legislation, the construction
of a garage door must comply with the provisions of Directive
2006/42/EC (Machinery Directive) and, in particular, with the
EN 12453 standard, which allows for declaring the presumed
conformity of the automation.
Given the above, the final connection of the automation to
the electrical mains, system testing, commissioning and
periodic maintenance must be performed by skilled and
qualified personnel, in accordance with the instructions given
in the section "Tasks reserved for qualified technicians". This
personnel is also responsible for defining the tests required
according to the risks present and for ensuring that all legal
provisions, standards and regulations are met, in particular all
requirements of the EN 12453 standard, which establishes the
test methods for checking garage door automations.
All preliminary set-up, installation and programming operations
may instead be performed by personnel with standard skills,
provided that all instructions and the relative sequences in
this manual are strictly observed, with special reference to the
warnings given in "STEP 1".

GENERAL SAFETY WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS
Before starting the installation, perform the following tests and
inspections:
– ensure that each device used to set up the automation is suited to
the intended system. To this aim, pay special attention to the data
given in the chapter "Technical specifications". Do not proceed with
the installation if any one of these devices is unsuitable for use.
– ensure that the devices in the kit are sufficient to guarantee the safety
of the system and its functionality.
– perform a risk assessment, which must include a list of the essential
safety requirements as envisaged in Annex I to the Machinery
Directive, specifying the relative solutions adopted. Bear in mind
that the risk assessment is one of the documents included in the
"technical file" of the automation. The latter must be drawn up by a
professional installer.
– the product is not intended for use by persons (including children)
with reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities, nor by anyone
lacking sufficient experience or knowledge of the product.
Considering the risk situations that may arise when installing
and using the product, the automation must be installed by
observing the following warnings:
– never make any modifications to any part of the automation other
than those specified in this manual. Operations of this type will lead
to malfunctions. The manufacturer declines all liability for damages
caused by makeshift modifications to products.
– avoid letting any parts of the automation come into contact with
water or other liquids. During installation ensure that no liquids can
penetrate the gearmotor or other devices present.
– should liquids penetrate parts of the automation components,
disconnect the power supply immediately and contact the Moovo
Technical Assistance Service. Using the automation in these
conditions constitutes a potential hazard.
– do not place the various components of the automation near sources
of heat or expose them to open flames. This may damage the
components and cause malfunctions, fire or dangerous situations.
– all operations that require opening of the protective casing of the
automation components must be performed with the control unit
disconnected from the power supply. If the disconnect device is
not in a visible location, affix a notice with the following wording:
"WARNING! MAINTENANCE IN PROGRESS".
– the product is not intended as an anti-intrusion system. If you require
an efficient protection system, the automation must be integrated
with other devices.
– the control unit must be connected to a power supply line equipped
with an earthing system.
– the product may only be used once the automation "commissioning"
procedure has been completed, as specified in the paragraph
"Testing and commissioning" in the section "Tasks reserved for
qualified technicians".
– the packaging material used for all the automation components
must be disposed of in full accordance with local waste disposal
regulations.
– after the installation, make sure that the anti-entanglement protection
system works as intended.
– prior to installing the drive motor, check that the door is in good
working order, correctly balanced and that it opens and closes
properly.
– prior to installing the motor, remove all unnecessary cables or chains
and deactivate any equipment – such as locking devices – not
necessary for motor-driven operation.
– install the manoeuvre device for manual unlocking at less than 1.8
m above the ground. NOTE: if removable, the manoeuvre device
should be kept close to the door.
– make sure that the controls are kept at a safe distance from moving
parts, while allowing a good view of these.
– unless a selector is used, the controls should be installed at least 1.5
m above the ground and must not be accessible.
