4.4.4 SETTING THE PRE-TENSIONING OF THE REAR SHOCK (SAG)
Before starting, ensure you have a high pressure pump and your
usual riding gear.
The process to set the SAG on your shock is very similar to that of
your fork. You simply need to follow these steps:
• Place the rubber O-ring against the shock's body.
• Sit on the bike in a normal position and wearing your usual
riding kit (helmet, bag and accessories...). You can lean
against a wall in order to avoid any brusque movements
on the bike.
• Step off your bike gently to avoid a harsh movement.
Your Moustache is equipped either with a sticker indicating the
level of SAG with a red sliding scale. The ideal SAG has been
reached when the O-ring is aligned with the red scale as in Figure
22. If the O-ring has gone further than this mark your shock needs
more air. Inversely, if the ring has not reached the mark, there is too much air in your shock.
To adjust the level of air in your shock:
• Unscrew the valve cap to access the shock's
valve that enables you to adjust the air pressure
(Figure 23).
• Using a high pressure pump, adjust the shock's
air pressure in order to attain the desired level
of SAG. Be careful to not go over the maximum
air pressure level that your shock can cope with!
• Asseyez-vous sur le vélo comme précédemment
et vérifiez le SAG. Répéter les opérations ci-
dessus jusqu'à trouver le bon réglage.
