this can cause the self-release mechanism to release. The helmet
could then be damaged through dropping it.
9. RETENTION SYSTEM
The J1's retention system consists of a chinstrap that is additionally
secured with neckbands at the back of the helmet shell (the Anti-Roll-
Off System, see Section D.14.).

The J1 comes with a push-button quick-release fastener. This fastener
system is easy to use and helps you optimally adjust the chinstrap to
your head each time you put on the helmet.
Adj ust i ng t he chi nst rap
You adjust the length of the chinstrap by increasing or reducing the
amount of strap pulled through the metal buckle.
Adjust the length of the chinstrap so that it fits firmly but comfortably
against your chin and fix the end of the strap using the retaining loop
with comfort pad.
Caution:
When adjusting, make sure the helmet cannot be pulled off in a
forward direction with the chinstrap closed (see Section C.3.).

Caution:
Check the adjustment of the chinstrap length regularly (see
Section F.2. "Checking the chinstrap").
Opening and closing
Close the chinstrap lock by pushing the metal tongue into the lock so
you hear it engage. Open the chinstrap by pressing the red button of
the quick-release fastener.
Caution:
Never ride without making sure the chinstrap is correctly
fastened, adjusted to fit and properly positioned.
If the chinstrap is incorrectly adjusted or fastened, the helmet
could be displaced in the event of an accident.
Caution:
Closing only the comfort pad of the chinstrap will not ensure
adequate protection. Always make sure you fully close the
chinstrap system.
Caution:
Never open the chinstrap while riding.
10. VISOR
Visor shield
The on average 2.5 mm thick 3D visor shield is manufactured using an
injection moulding process. The special polycarbonate has exceptional
transparency, strength and toughness, resistance to impact and
fracture and is particularly weatherproof. In addition, due to the
