4 Using the Regenerative Power System

Terrestrial Curve Shape
The following equations describe the solar array simulator terrestrial model using the parameters Io
and Caq, which are defined as functions of the four input parameters Voc, Vmp, Isc, and Imp.
The above equations are derived from equations C.9, C.10, and C.5 in European Standard EN50530
(April 2010), "Overall efficiency of grid connected photovoltaic inverters".
These equations also are mathematically equivalent to equations 8, 9, and 7 in the Sandia Inverter
Performance Test Protocol, "Performance Test Protocol for Evaluating Inverters Used in Grid-
Connected Photovoltaic Systems". To establish this equivalence, the following variable substitutions
must be made:
