Power Limitations when paralleling 30 kW units using 200/208 Vac input mains
The output power of all 30 kW units when operating at 200/208 Vac nominal will be limited to 15 kW.
The output current of these units will also be limited to one half of their rated current. Because the 30
kW units can operate at either 200/208 or 380/480 Vac, the following limitations also apply:
All secondary units must be using the same ac mains line voltage as the primary unit. You cannot
l
have some primary or secondary units using a 200/208 Vac input and others using a 380/480 Vac
input, or an error (332) will occur.
When an operating state is saved when the unit is operating on a specific ac line voltage, and the
l
ac line voltage is subsequently changed, that saved state will not be able to be recalled (*RCL), An
error (341) will occur. This also occurs with units in a primary secondary configuration if any of their
output states were previously saved when operating at a different ac line voltage.
Primary/Secondary Command Details
Once connected, the group of units are controlled through the primary and appear as a single higher
power unit. All programming commands should be sent to the primary unit. The following SCPI
commands are not supported in primary/secondary mode:
CALibrate
ELOG:CURRent<:MAX|:MIN>
OUTPut:COUPle<:STATe|:OFFSet>
The following SCPI commands can be sent to the secondary unit in primary/secondary mode. Other
commands may be allowed, but could disrupt control of the secondary unit by the primary unit.
INSTrument:GROup:FUNCtion
INSTrument:SECondary:ADDRess
LXI:IDENtify:STATe
LXI:MDNS:STATe
SYSTem:REBoot*
*The Reboot command can also be sent to the primary unit, but will not propagate to the secondary units.
Troubleshooting
In primary/secondary mode, the following status indicators and messages may appear on the front
panel:
PSP - primary/secondary protection
There has been a communication loss between the primary and secondary units. Check that the
CAT6A cables
are installed in the primary/secondary connectors, not in the in the LAN or Safety
Disconnect.
CSF - Current sharing fault
