Spotl
ighted
Subjects
To
prevent overexposure of the
main
subject resulting
from the
intensity
of
spotlig
hting, it
is
necessary to
reduce
the
amount of I
ight
reaching
the film by
setting
the exposure compensation dial
to
1/
2
or 1/4
.
The
"
1/2" setting reduces the amount of light reaching
the film by one-half:
Thus a shutter speed of
1/
250 is
automatically in-
creased to 1/500 sec.
The
"1/4"
setting
reduces
the amount of light reaching
the
film by one-forth:
Thus a shutter speed setting of 1/250
is
automatica
ll
y
increased to
1/
1000 sec.
The top
photo was made with 1/4 exposure compensa-
tion;
exposure compensation was not emp loyed
for
th
e
bottom photo.
