Trouble-shooting

The following table lists the most common sources of error and how to eliminate them:
Problem
Turbine fails to ignite
Start-up process not
initiated
Jet-tronic does not
respond to transmitter
commands
Turbine ignites, but
start-up process
is halted
Starter unit fails to
engage correctly, or
slips
(-> continuous
"whistling noise")
Turbine starts, runs up
to speed, but remains
at idle speed. No response
to throttle stick, green
LED is off.
Cause
Propane not connected.
Propane tank is empty, or gas
pressure too low (e.g. very low
external temperatures).
Glowplug not glowing brightly enough.
Glowplug faulty or plug filament
not pulled out sufficiently
Turbine is still too warm,
Post-run cooling process not yet
finished (-> green LED flashes)
Turbine battery not connected,
or battery flat or almost flat.
Glowplug defective (-> red LED flashes). Check / replace glowplug.
3-core lead to turbine
not plugged in.
Radio control system has not
been correctly "learned", or
RC system has been changed
or re-programmed since "learning".
Air in fuel feed lines
Fuel pump jammed / fails
to start
Propane tank almost empty.
Oil / dust deposits on the
compressor nut / coupling.
Throttle stick not yet moved
to idle
Remedy
Connect propane.
(Re-) fill propane tank.
Adjust glowplug voltage.
(glowplug must glow bright red!)
Check glowplug and replace if
necessary. Glowplug filament must be
pulled out by at least 3 - 4 mm!
Wait until post-run cooling
is finished (green LED no longer
flashing).
Connect / charge battery.
Check / connect lead.
Repeat "learning" process
for RC system, check function in
RC-Check menu
Bleed fuel system (->manual
mode).
As soon as red "Pump running"
LED glows the fuel pump must run !!!
If necessary test fuel pump
(-> manual mode)
(Re-) fill propane tank
De-grease compressor nut
with paintbrush and cleaning
agent (e.g. acetone / cellulose
thinners).
Reduce throttle stick to
idle and wait until the
green "OK" LED lights, to indicate
that thrust control has been
transferred to the pilot
