Installation and mounting
The safety system is only allowed to be fitted by authorised
specialist personnel.
Fit safety sensors such that
 they are difficult for operators to access when the protective device
is open
and
 it is possible to inspect and replace the safety sensors.
 If possible, fit sensor and actuating element on non-ferrous
materials. If fitted on ferrous materials, the response range will be
reduced. To avoid a reduction in the response range, a spacer
made of non-ferrous material must be fitted between the ferrous
material and the sensor/actuating element.
 Fit sensor and actuating element such that they do not touch each
other. Minimum distance between the front faces with the
protective device closed: 1 mm (cf. Fig. 2).
 Pay attention to possible approach direction (cf. Fig. 1).
 Observe minimum spacing to neighbouring sensors: 25 mm
(cf. Fig. 4).
 On swivelling doors the actuating element is to be fitted to the
closing edge.
 Fit additional stop for moving parts of the protective device
(cf. Fig. 2).
 If possible, fasten sensor and actuating element so that they
cannot be detached. Tighten self-locking screws to 1.0 Nm.
Do not use anaerobic adhesive for securing the fixing screws.
Anaerobic adhesives attack the plastic housing on sensors and
actuating elements.
On the usage of screws without self-locking it is imperative to
ensure that the actuating element cannot enter the response range
of the sensor on unintentional loosening of the screws (e.g. by
dropping down).
In this case it is not allowed to fit the actuating element directly above
the sensor (cf. Fig. 3).
 Fit evaluation unit in housing/control cabinet (min. IP 54) on
35-mm DIN rails.
