Chapter 1
WARNING

On safety
system switches to the OFF state, but does not switch back to the ON
state again.
The ON state can only be achieved again when the protective device
is opened more than 15 mm (SAFE OFF state achieved) and then
closed again, while observing the minimum approach speed required.
Note on approach from the side
If the actuating element is moved in the direction of the sensor from
the side, then it is to be ensured that the tolerance range around the
middle position of the sensor/actuating element (marked with
circular symbol) is observed (cf. Fig. 1).
1.4.4

Number of sensors

The evaluation unit has 6 sensor channels so that up to 6 sensors
can be connected. While channels 5 and 6 must always be used for
correct operation, the sensor inputs 1 to 4 can be enabled and
disabled separately (cf. chapter 3.2 "Sensor inputs").
1.4.5

Outputs

The evaluation unit evaluates the signals from the sensors, the reset
button and the external device monitoring (EDM) and operates the
outputs.
The evaluation unit has the following relay outputs:
 3 immediately switching safety-relevant N/O contacts
 1 N/C contact (signalling contact)
 1 delayed release N/C contact (delay time can be adjusted
between 0.6 s and 30 s, e.g. for connection to a braking system)

Status indicators

POWER: The green LED ("POWER") illuminates when the power supply
is switched on.
OUTPUT: The green LED ("OUTPUT") illuminates when the output
contacts 13/14, 23/24 and 33/34 are closed.
ERROR: The red LED ("ERROR") flashes in the case of a fault.
1−6: 6 yellow LEDs ("1" ... "6") indicate the operating state of the
individual sensors. They illuminate when the related safety door is
open.
