Regular inspection of the protective device

Maintenance work is not necessary. However, to ensure correct
function over the long term, regular checks are necessary.
The operator must check daily, or prior to the start of the shift,
whether
 the safety system functions correctly
 there is evidence of manipulation on the protective device
If the protective device is not operated frequently, a function check is
to be performed at least weekly.
4.3.1

Testing by specialist personnel

Testing by specialist personnel must be performed at least every
6 months:
 Isolate all power supplies.
 Check position of sensor and actuating element on each safety
door (distances, alignment error).
 Check all terminal connections.
 Check all cables for damage. Damaged cables and components
must be replaced without delay, operation with damaged cables or
components is not allowed.
4.3.2

Check inhibit function

 Test the system's inhibit function as follows:
– Isolate all power supplies.
– Close all protective devices.
– Only re-establish the supply of power (operating voltage only) to
the evaluation unit.
– If the reset button is connected, press the reset button.
– Open only one safety door.
Check whether the N/O contacts 13/14, 23/24, 33/34 open
without delay and contact 57/58 opens with a delay.
– Check all sensors one after the other.
– During the tests, check the LEDs.
– If the system functions correctly during this test, isolate from the
power supply again.
– Re-establish all connections and re-establish the power supply.
Prior to normal machine operation, check whether the machine
stops when a safety door is opened.
