4.1

Tests before the first commissioning

 Mechanical functional check
Sensor and actuating element must not touch when the protective
device is closed.
Distance between sensor and actuating element with protective
device closed min. 1 mm (cf. Fig. 2).
 Electrical functional check
On connection to 110 V AC or 230 V AC operating voltage: Prior to
switch on, check whether the voltage selector switch is set
correctly.

Check stop function

 Close all protective devices.
 Start machine.
 Open first protective device.
Check whether the machine stops when the protective device is
opened.
 Close all protective devices again, start machine and perform the
same procedure individually with each protective device.
4.1.2

Check start function

 Switch off machine.
 Open first protective device.
 Start machine.
The machine must not start with a protective device open!
 Perform this procedure for each protective device/sensor. Close all
protective devices except one, start machine and check each
sensor individually in this manner.
4.1.3

Check delay time

When the delayed output 57/58 is used, the delay time must be
checked.
 The time set must be greater than the time determined in the risk
analysis.
