STARTING THE ENGINE
With cold engine, i.e., after the motorcycle has not
been used for a while or in low ambient tempera-
tures, operate in the following manner:
1) Place ignition key (1) to ON position (the buzz that
you hear when you turn the key to ON is caused
by the fuel pump which puts the feeding system
under pressure);
2) pull the starter knob (2);
3) pull the clutch lever (3);
4) shift the gear pedal (4) into neutral position;
5) Check that the button (5) is in the out position
and press it, followed by the start button (6).
Put the knob (2) in its initial position as soon as
the engine is idling
When starting with an already warmed up en-
gine DO NOT USE the starter. When a cold engine
has just been started, do not increase revs, to
ensure an adequate oil warm-up and circulation.
Note*: A safety switch is fitted on the clutch lever
support that allows starting ONLY when the clutch
lever is pulled.
