6. STARTING THE ENGINE
• Never run the engine in an enclosed or confined area. Exhaust
contains poisonous carbon monoxide gas; exposure can cause loss
of consciousness and may lead to death.
• Start the engine by placing the snow thrower on a firm level ground.
CAUTION:
• Never hold or squeeze the drive clutch lever and auger clutch switch when
operating the starter motor; the machine will start suddenly as the engine
starts, resulting in accident or injury.
• To start and stop the engine and snow thrower on a sloping surface, be
sure to set the main shift lever in N (neutral) position with the drive
clutch lever released.
1. Turn the fuel valve lever to the ON position.
Be sure that the drain knob is tightened securely.
