3. Service the battery.
If the snow thrower will be stored for an extended period, disconnect the
negative terminal from battery A. Remove the batteries and recharge them every
6 months and every year before operation and storage.
The snow thrower is equipped with two 12 V batteries connected in series (24 V
total). Recharge each battery separately if you use a 12 V battery charger.
Charging time: Approx. 10 hours/3.5 A (Standard)
• The battery gives off explosive gases. Keep sparks caused by short circuit
and flames away when handling the battery.
• Do not use or recharge the battery with the electrolyte level below the
lower level. It can shorten the service life of the battery or cause
explosion.
Explosion of the battery can cause serious personal injury.
• Connect the battery cable properly. When connecting the battery cable,
be sure to connect at the positive (+) terminal first, then at the negative
(–) terminal. To disconnect, disconnect at the negative terminal first.
Never disconnect the battery cable in the reverse order. Protect the
battery terminals by attaching the tubes that came with the snow
thrower to the battery terminals. This will prevent short circuit caused by
a tool coming in contact with a terminal.
• The battery contains sulfuric acid (electrolyte). Contact with skin or eyes
may cause severe burns. Wear protective clothing and a face shield.
– If electrolyte gets on your skin, flush with water.
– If electrolyte gets in your eyes, flush with water for at least 15 minutes
and call a physician immediately.
